New Leaf, New Life into the Unknown

Today is the second day of my life. The first would be the day that everything came crumbling down in my foreclosed home in a small town north of Detroit, Michigan. With nothing left to lose but my Chevy pickup and the contents of what was once my garage, I set out west, looking to start over.

At the time I was working for a small business, cutting trees that had fallen on power lines, homes, and the occasional landscape adjustment for private residences. My wages weren’t enough to fix my credit and start a new home here, so I packed my essentials, left the rest behind, and set out on a trek to South Dakota, where my old friend from high school left to be a machinist a few years ago. We were pretty close back in those days, so I figured he was my best shot for a fresh start.

I stopped in Indiana at a very grubby motel, and before I could check in, a man in a suit told me that his name was Travis Miller, and he noticed the tools in my cab and that he was looking for someone that would take care of the trees growing around some properties he was planning on investing in and he would pay me a lump sum of $530.

I figured I could use the extra cash, so I took him up on the offer. He gave me an address and I headed over to the abandoned strip mall on the north side of town. There were six very wide oak and maple trees obstructing the view of the location, and a dead pine near the entrance.

I filled up my chainsaw and got to work tying down the trees. Even though I had never taken a gig such as this, and thought to myself on the way that the location was a little sketchy, but who was I, in my dire times to decline? I felled that dead pine pretty fast and without much hassle, as it seemed to have been dried up for some time, and moved on to the hardwood surrounding the facility’s parking lot islands.

I had a bit of trouble removing the first one, a thick maple, because there was little to anchor it to so that it wouldn’t fall into the street as it seemed to lean that way, but I managed to get it to fall towards the lot. The rest were fairly easy to take down. By the time I finished cutting up the trees, the sun had already fallen below the horizon, and I smelled terrible, so I called Travis and headed back to me hotel.

He met me there, payed me in cash and thanked me for the work on such short notice. He said that he would have many more jobs like these if I was interested and I took him up on the offer the next day. I decided to forego my long trip to South Dakota, get a cheap apartment in the area, and start my own business. I got a decal for my truck, forest green letters that said “New Leaf Tree Removal Services” and started my new life here in the Hoosier State.

Chauffeuring to Airport

Beautiful-Tree_opt service123

That moment when you can’t Drive on the Michigan’s crazy Highways. I mean Michiganders go 80 MPH! That’s unheard of from where I come from. At most people are doing 55 MPH and that’s still fast in my opinion.

Anyway this blog post will be about a experience I had the other day about needing to go to the airport to go to a small gathering with friends down in Florida to escape the Michigan climate.

My home stay family had to work in the morning and they offered to give me a car to the airport but I was too nervous to handle the snowy roads and high speed highways so I had to once again get a limousine service out of Novi to get myself chauffeured! My friend recommended me this company after using them for a party bus rental for his Bachelor party and was told that they do a fine job and the owner is very friendly.

Boy do I live the good life! Haha, well just kidding I paid for the limo myself so I would of actually saved money if I could drive but what do you do. Its better to get to the destination safe and stress free before a long trip in my opinion. And a limo ride is strangely more relaxing than any other ride.

My plane was to depart from 8:00 AM and I arrived right at the gate so no need to take the shuttle bus, the driver opened the door for me and was very polite and carried my bags right up to inside of the airport even though it was freezing. I really appreciated the driver’s service and I was grateful.

So because limo driver drove me right up to the gate, I had plenty of time before boarding time so I went to a Japanese restaurant nearby and got some Udon to eat. It was quite pricey but it was delicious, very good for an airport.

Now on the plane I had a great time watching the Avengers again on my iPad for the 50th time or something, I really love that movie and my favorite has to be Tony Stark, Iron Man. So that movie is the best and I enjoy watching it all the time.

The plane ride was smooth to Florida, I slept a good 2-4 hours on it which was great and made time fly by quick. I was also sitting in a empty row which was awesome and you feel like you won the lottery.

Arriving to Florida was a pleasant experience, as soon as I stepped out of the plane I could feel the warm breeze welcoming me to take off my jackets and feel the air a little bit. It was a wonderful experience.

I could feel the energy of the place was bit more lively than Michigan’s tree service guys and I knew I was going to be in for a wild treat of fun and adventures.

Now this blog post will have to be two part because I’m typing this in Florida right now and I still have not even finished with my adventures here. Let me just say it is a great state and I love the friends that I’ve met so far. At the end of the day that’s really the #1 attractive thing for any place, is the people that live there. And so far I have to say Florida has some stellar people in my book.

Dvd1: The Roles of Tree Doctor

So one of the DVD’s I created was about the tree service industry because I was part of it for many years, let me just say that was the way I made my money in my 20’s. Doing great big job and pocketing couple hundred per day was the great life.

Here is a breakdown of a tree doctor, often misunderstood profession in the industry.

The tree doctor

The tree doctor plays an important role when it comes to making sure that you can and will get the best when it comes to diagnosing any tree health problems, any tree issues in general, and a whole lot more. Now, it’s also important to remember that when it comes to understanding the role of the tree doctor, that they need to know that they are not only a point person, but that they are also a person who can and does aim for the best, when it comes to making sure that you will have an amazing tree that you’ll not only love, but one that can and will be healthy productive and good.

The role of a tree doctor

Of course another key factor to take into consideration, when it comes to understanding a tree doctor is to know the role of the tree doctor, because by doing so you can guarantee that you’ll not only get the best, but that you’ll also have the best, and enjoy the best when it comes to having healthy and wonderful trees. Additionally, tree doctors need to make sure that they pay attention to every single detail, when it comes to making sure that they get what they want and need for the benefit of the tree. It’s also very important to remember that when it comes to knowing the role of a tree doctor that we make sure that we take advantage of every single element of who they are. They are there to diagnose problems, they are there to make sure the tree is healthy, productive, and positive, and they are there to make sure that you can and will get the best when it comes to proper growth for your trees, and proper examination of trees, so that they not only look right, but feel right, and are on point as a whole. The tree doctor should care, want to do the best he can, and make sure that he can produce the best so that you are able to have a healthy, and productive tree.

Need to know

It’s also important that people remember that tree doctors should also be in the know. They should know about a lot of things, such as the tree pruning facts, stump grinding facts, and a whole lot more. It’s all about getting what you need when you need it, and thus be sure to get just that with a tree doctor who is knowledgeable, on point, and who can and does think that by offering real services, and knowing what they’re talking about that they will better be able to help with your tree concerns and problems. I for one know that when it comes to trees, that things are not always just black and white, and thus it’s important to make sure that we not only take care of nature’s beauty, but that we also make sure that we stay on point, so we can have beautiful trees, and that comes from having a truly helpful tree doctor.

As former construction guru, I’m quite proud to have discovered so much about the tree business. It is that one thing that has made me successful time and time again, and I certainly learning a lot from my first company in East Lansing, MI

If you are going to sell a home, get a carpet cleaner & plumber

I have over 25 years experience in apartment rentals as well as home selling and one of the biggest tip I can give to new home seller is to get a professional carpet cleaning service or plumbing service before you go show a tour of the home or take pictures for the website display.

You will be surprised how much of a different clean professionally which is key carpet looks and could make you your home look 10 years younger than it is. If you never gotten professional carpet cleaning before you do not have proper reference to know what I am talking about. Those of you that have, if you got a good carpet cleaner you will know that I am not exaggerating when I say that it makes the whole home look different.

If you think you can get away with regular old vacuum to do the trick, you are in my humble opinion mistaken. First of all, the professional carpet cleaners use industry level cleaning equipment that sucks up particles at great strength and often times will vacuum up many dust mites and other minute debris that regular vacuum similar cannot get to. So overtime things just continue to accumulate which is hard to detect to the naked eye but only becomes apparent when you get a real carpet cleaner that does great work.

1 tip I have is to check local review and check out there website for testimonials or before & after pictures.. I find that companies that can show these things on their site means they are proud of the work they do and they will certainly deliver similar fantastic results for you as well.

The Plumbing system of your home is like the bowel of the human body, they say all sickness begins in the colon and the bowel, constipation is known to cause whole slew of diseases including cancer. The elimination and water system is very important, an unsanitized living condition in Europe caused an pandemic of illness causing deaths in the untold numbers, much the same way in order to preserve your home for the long term, one should take good care of the plumbing system.

Water damage can be one of the most harmful things to the home destroying thousands of dollars worth of assets in terrifyingly rapid rate. Sometimes it will do a lot of good to hire a professional plumber even if no unknown problems are seen before selling a home because you want to give your new homers the good feeling of making the right decision to purchase your home, whereas if yo put yourself in their shoes, move into a brand new home which cost you an arm and a leg, and then in relatively short period the toilet overflows or the bathtub gets clogged, that is not a pleasant experience.

You may say that you do not care because by then you already sold the house, well consider if you didn’t sell the house and you hold onto the house for months more, if there is any water leakage or plumbing issue at hand, the longer you wait to repair the more potential for the value of the home to take a significant hit when the plumbing is leaking water damage beneath the floors where your eyes cannot reach.

In my humble opinion, i believe in maintenance work of a home, not repair work.

We take our car in for maintenance every few months, why not our homes every once in a while perhaps not as often as a car but it will still benefit you over the long to do this.

Is it better to prevent cancer with good diet or to wait till there is a tumor and go to a hospital and pay astronomical medical bills to treat the cancer?

Which one costs more?

Yes it may seem like more money upfront but by looking at the long term which in this case, a home is most likely a long term thing, it will actually save you money to stay on top of maintenance work rather than repair, for example a professional carpet cleaning can take years off of appearance but also extend the life carpet by several years each time you do it, because now the accumulated dirt and other particles are cleared away to prevent that accumulation itself to continue to do more damage, till eventually the whole thing needs to get replace which is much more expensive job.

I hope you find this guide helpful in seeing there is more to good house selling than simply putting up a for sale sign in the front yard.
